Titan
(See the Titan Gallery)
Titan was discovered by Christiaan Hugyens March 25, 1655. Since there were no other moons discovered around Saturn before this he named it Luna Saturni (Saturn's Moon). Later (1847) John Herschel suggested naming the moon Titan by calling it such in his book Results of Astronomical Observations Made at the Cape of Good Hope. Titans are the sisters and brothers of the Greek God Chronos (Roman's called him Saturn).
